Stratton FINALLY arrive!

He came around 5 in the morning on the 7th of April. Danica let me be with her through labor and delivery. She was truly amazing. No complaining, although she started the whole process about 7 am on the 6th of April. He was 8'14" and perfect. Brennon was fun to be with, he was excited the whole time (except when he slept) and they will be amazing parents. Thanks for Stratton, we intend to fully spoil him!

Im so proud of Danica! She has worked, got married, been pregnant and got great grades! She graduated with honors and did a great job on her student teaching. Im so glad she has a degree. We threw a party for her and still owe her a fancy dinner out. Great job Dani!

Biggest news EVER! Danica and Brennon are having a baby! They told us by giving us a cute picture of them in their photo booth. They are having a boy and are naming him Stratton Randall (the name we chose for all our girls that didnt turn out to be boys)

Thanksgiving was great with the Gutterys. Love all the newly weds (we have four in these pictures)

Everyone, including Grandpa, took to the streets on whatever form of wheels they could find.

This game evolved into putting someone in the middle of the grass and using him as the target.

Jamisons football team was so fun to watch. We went to a few of his games and then to his state playoff. They are the best boys too, so we really were hoping for a win - but they did give them a good game.

John and Shar had a little girl named Willow - She is perfect.

Some of Breeas friends surprised her with this display of 100 things they love about her.

The Ward Christmas party was awesome, the Priest found this Icecream bike at a yard sale and surprised Bill by fixing it up for him - They are probably the best Priest I have ever known.

Guttery 2010 Beach trip!!

OK, I get a little flack from the family because I wait til the last possible minute to book our place in California, hoping someone wants to rent a great place for cheap rather than let it set for a week and sure enough!!!!! See the double peach unit? We had the place all by ourselves and a great garage and location. The weather was a little colder than normal but we still got to do all the traditional SDB fun and added a few extra things this year.

Breea and Brennon were loving the longboard and Tessa cracked us up on the tandem bike with dad. This is how she rode for over an hour, with her head rested on his back not seeing anything in front of her and didnt have a single complaint.

We kept the boards, wetsuits and bikes a couple of days and spent alot of time on the boardwalk.

We got to have Maddie come with us - she's part of our family now!

Some other highlights were Joes Crabshack, volleyball, card games, church, videos, shopping, and lots of warm cookies.

Danica hung out with the little ones, because she was "with child" and the rest of us hit space mountain. Tessa got hurt, so she ended up at the nurses station where they promptly gave her anything she wanted as not to have a lawsuit on their hands. So, front of the line passes for about 4 rides and any size of sucker she wanted! GO TESSA!

Great time, and a decision that we could wait another 3 years before going again. Tessas only stipulation was that the next park we go to cannot be Sea Land, it has to be Sea World.

There isnt a picture of Traceys amazing kitchen. He makes the PDHCO taste good. We had a wonderful testimony meeting, played alot of cards, volleyball and horseshoe tournaments. Kids loved the campfire, scavenger hunts, forts and soda. I feel blessed to have a family that WANTS to get together every years for campouts.

The reception could not have turned out better. The weather was PERFECT! The hanging balls were beautiful, Danica and Breea did an awesome job decorating the gazebo, Kristal took these fun pictures, ALL my sisters, sister in law, Parents on both sides helped make everything look amazing and run smooth. Family and good friends really came through and made everything perfect. There was about 500 people, but since it went for 3 hours it never got too crowded. The popcorn, cotton candy and soft ice cream machines were the hit along with fresh lemonade and strawberry lemonade. Homemade salsa and cowboy caviar salsa, fruit and a treat table were the other foods. Brennon threw together a cool photo booth too. So many fun details made the night so great.

For Aprils birthday, we took our families to Jesterz! It was alot of fun getting together and we ended up at Neilsons Frozen Custard :)

Breea has been traveling and performing with LIGHT. She had a great time in light and made some great friends. Friends have been tough for her this year, not making them, but finding true and kind ones, but Light is packed full of them:)

Breea and I have also been going to alot of the Boys Volleyball games. She has a few friends on the team (Heeder, Cade, Jacob, Tyler, Reece and Dillon) and a couple of boys she wishes she was friends with. I love going because I LOVE playing volleyball twice a week and I actually feel like I could compete with these boys (I know Im only dreaming)

Bill, Danica, Brennon and I went to the State Fairground to watch Firefly compete in the Colgate KNIX Country Showdown and they won! I gotta get my girls singing - it looks like they are having a blast and my girls LOVE to sing. (We are working on writing music so we can cut a cd for family and friends)

Our biggest event is getting ready for Kayla and Chad to get married!

When we went dress shopping Jamison got to go to some of it because his mom had to take him to find a suit for Prom. I love that Breea has two amazing cousin and only wish we all lived in the same ward and they could always be together.

We went to Davids Bridal and Kayla did a fun fashion show and then we headed to Azteca where we found "the one" So grateful my sisters and nieces could come. It really made for a special day for her.

We ended up at Hard Rock Cafe for Lunch.

With the split of our ward I have have had many feelings. These last couple of months have been a little sad as I drive by Shamrock Farms or go to Volleyball or really just sit and think. My life has been so blessed the passed few years with the great people I've become friends with. When the ward was first put together I think we all felt like outsiders with just a few people we knew, but each week, depending on if I was in my social or anti-social mood, new friends were made. There has always been the guilt of me not knowing the names, just the faces or even not recognizing the faces and saying "I dont think we have met". With the come back being "Yes, your bishops wife, we met you when we moved in" - Nice. Most have forgiven me for my lame-braininess, and realize that comes with the Vonda package. Im so grateful for that.

I could go through my ward list and tell either an experience of that person or things I admire about them and some fun things about each person. But for fear that I will leave someone out, I will just keep that in my personal journal:-) I LOVE my Shamrock Farms family!!!!

Breea is such an amazing daughter. She is full of life and always busy. Her friends have been a blast to get to know. This is Morgan and her a few months back.

Her sisters are always best buds!

She's made a bunch of great friends through LIGHT.

Probably her Best friend is her cousin, Jamison. He always takes good care of her when she is down and includes her in alot of his friends activities. Love having them together because Jamison is such a righteous young man.

So Glad the girls decided to try out for Willy Wonka. It was their first play and Im sure it wont be their last. McKenna was a towns person/cook/dancer and singer. Bill, President Hall and President Church. Bill got to service in the Stake Presidency with these amazing men about 9 years ago and in November President Hall was finally released. We went to the Adult session and Bill was called out of the audience to bear his testimony. It was such a great opportunity to be able to see our old stake, good friends and thank President Hall and Church.

Afterwards we went with our great friends for a little treat - always a good time with the gang.

Volleyball was a hit with everyone of all ages - just a bit crazy with all the rocks and trees.

Danica and I were missing Melanie Merchants Firefly Concert so we wore their t-shirts in support.

The cousins all had a great time and very few incidents :}

The last day was testimony meeting and was, as always the highlight of the Hatch Campout. So grateful for a family that values their relationship with God and wants to raise good families. Thanks mom and dad, for instilling that in me. Im forever grateful.

Small story. We were in the front row as they explained probably 10 times the importance of low lights/no flash cameras while looking at the documents such as the Declaration of Independence and the Bill or Rights etc.. due to their fragility. I heard, I believed, I planned to obey. CRAP, my flash went off. There were many ooos and ahhhs and a slunk out of the room accordingly. To my shock, Bill was not gonna take the blame or even acknowledge he was with me - thanks. Embarrassment personified~

Beautiful funeral for Jersey girl, that we all fell in love with. She lived 6 weeks and brought more to this world than most do in a 90 year life.

Bill really got to spend some time with her and her sweet family and is forever changed because of knowing her.

Quinn received the Priesthood, so it was a great opportunity for us to get together for our annual "Hatch Cousin Exchange".

Which was then used for our enjoyment as Grandpa Hatch was snoozing.

Alex just got his call to Missouri! Kayla is loosing another best friend. They do hot chocolate every night about midnight.

We've also been getting lots of moisture - umbrellas have to be tops on Tessa play toys.

Tessas Preschool party

One day I kept Mckenna home from school so she could help me put up Christmas decorations (I let Shayna the next day, Breea has finals) We had a fun day of wrapping and setting up decorations. New tradition!

This village is not off limits to kids, so it looks different every day, and many heads and arms are hot glued on, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I remember, as a kid, wanting to play with the villages at my moms and grandmas.

Another favorite for me is getting my mail every day and seeing every ones family picture. WARNING: I leave them up a couple of months.

I did find other ways to display them so that my walls and fridge are not as cluttered.

Saturday night was the annual "Box" party. We went to the traditional "Oregano's" for PP salad, pasta and pesto pizza! Notice the seating arrangement. Us girls decide where everyone sits, what we eat and pretty much everything (because we all have amazingly wonderful husbands who let us:-)

On my way home from bunco last night, I must have dialed home without realizing it. Well, Christmas music is kind-of my favorite, so I was really belting out the songs on my way home. I walk in the door and all my children are laughing at me. I think they're just jealous of my amazing vocal talents and knowledge of the Christmas music. My girls always tease me about singing every song I can, as loudly as I can, in the car, kitchen, movie theatre, church, ballgames and just about anywhere. Im not gonna let it bug me, cause I really believe even with my lack of talent, that is where my girls gained the love of music. They really have no choice - Im not gonna stop singing, so deal with it, daughters:-)

This year we went to Dani's for TG because we were getting ready for a reception at our house. She did a great job setting the table for 12 people.

Grandma Guttery was the Head Chief and Danica and I filled in the gaps. Notice the ever popular texas sheet cake under glass to be adored while eating the main course.

Instead of playing a mean game of cards, we opted for the more gentle tradition of decorating the Christmas tree.

Friday we spent the day Getting ready for Shawn and Aftons reception.

There were a few mishaps throughout the night. Some stray dog showed up for the festivities and Kayla snagged him and we tied him to the front tree to be claimed. We also blew a few circuits with all the lights and roasters plugged into one wall, the pool lights werent working, a scorpion almost got one of the kitchen workers and Bill ended up doing the parking. But all in all, it was a nice night and the food was AMAZING.

Saturday, Tessa took a spill while grass boarding. Lots of blood, but luckily nothing serious. The sweet driver of the quad made these cookies and a sorry note - it seriously wasnt her fault - just a random accident.

That night I lead the Childrens Choir for the Stake Christmas Concert. It was a little scary, but the concert was so beautiful. Breea and Sidney sang a duet and Kayla was part of this quartet.

During all this, Breea had her 15th b-day. Mason and Codey are two of her best buddies and stopped by to pick her up for a b-day pizza lunch that Mikie planned for her. I love her friends.

We'll start with Kayla - She had a birthday! We went to Oreganos and I bought her this adorable dress without any help - I think she was a little shocked.

The cake below came from the Bischofs and it looked amazing when they brought it, but Tessa decided to take her piece early and from what ever spot she chose.

Breea has been super tired lately because of track. She comes home and whines that shes tired, dying, hungry or she's gonna throw up. Joy. She got first place last week in long jump and has another meet today. It does help to have two of her best buds, Lauren and Dexie to whine with.

Breea also got to spend the day at the Zoo with one of her best friends since 3rd grade, Ali. Im always happy when they get time together.

Saturday was also one of my favorite friends, Becky, birthday. Ive wanted to write about her for a while and have never got a picture. She's georgous, but camera shy. She brightens my day and keeps me exersizing too. Next to her is another great friend Michelle who helps me raise my kids, takes care of me and will someday be right next door.

Shayna had a concert that was the best. We are so lucky at CTA to have the MOST amazing choir director. In my 15 years of school concerts, this one was the best!

Im so grateful for my testimony of Jesus Christ, Heavenly Father and the Bible and Book of Mormon.

As I think of my life and all I have to be grateful for, I know my life would mean very little without knowing who I am and what Heavenly Father sees in me. Im grateful to be able to read (and for the most part, understand) the words of the scriptures. Im grateful the gospel is so simple and perfect. Im grateful for unconditional love from a Heavenly Father and a listening ear. Lastly, Im grateful for Jesus Christ for his sacrifice for me so that I can change and be better. I just need to REMEMBER (my favorite word).

Im grateful for great parents.

My parents are the best! I have a rough time thinking of anything negative when I think of my childhood. I worry my kids are gonna remember all the bad and none of the good - thats why I try to have alot of parties and chick flick time. I wish they lived closer to me and my family, but I am grateful we do try to get together alot. My mom is an example to me of how to take care of a new mother. She was great "new mom" caregiver. My dad always takes care of the honey do list when he stays at my house. So I can be guaranteed that twice a year a couple of things will get fixed around here. I appreciate that so much, even though he "rigs" it. (family, you know what I mean)

Like Ruth, I am blessed to have a righteous example for a mother in law. She is always serving and would do anything to make me and my family happy. That is where Bill gets it from, well, her and her sweet husband Willard.

I asked Brennon to call us mom and dad because I regret not calling them Mom and Dad earlier and now it just comes out "Grandma and Grandpa" when I really do feel a love for them like they are my second mom and dad. They have always made me feel like I fit right in the family, even when I am laying around on the couch and they are all doing project. I love them and am grateful to have them in my life.

Im so grateful for a house full of girls.

Tessa makes me laugh hourly. Yesterday we were in the car and the announcer said something about Punky Brewster and she looks at me with a strange look and says "Did they say Funky Rooster?" And at church Sunday one of the girls was bugging her and Tessa hit her and I said "Tessa, did you hit her?" and she said "No, I was just giving her high fives." She makes me happy.

Kayla makes me feel happy, proud, crazy, guilty, old, and a number of other emotions. She has always been my girl that is sensitive and post high school has proven to be very eventful for her. She is going to school full time, being a part time nanny, teaching voice and guitar, trying to keep up on home chores and serving as R.S. Pres. in the singles ward. Thats a free ticket on the emotional train and sometimes I hop on too. Im so proud of her and her choices.

Breea, what can I say, Its all about her. Yep, Breea is a Freshman and that comes with drama and attitude. But for the most part - shes a joy that makes me laugh. Shes a giggler that is very contagious. Shes learning new talents and making good choices - what more can a mom ask for?

McKenna makes our house energized. Shes our crazy dancer, actress and comedian. Shes really turning into a young lady and has made big changes this year. I cant wait until she realized how talented she is, and really gets into something she loves. I love hanging out with her and just chillin, she's my little friend and we hope to see her grow a few inches this year:-)

Danica and Brennon live so close that we are lucky to have them stop by every couple of days. Danica is fun to watch being a married lady, she's amazing. She does that whole cook, clean and grocery shop thing, great. Shes as busy as Kayla and I love that they are best friends - it gives me hope for the rest of my girls.

Shayna used to be known as my cleaner, but eight has changed her. She does enjoy organizing, but has now realized playing is alot more fun than cleaning. She has a soft heart and really works at getting along and playing with her sisters. I can learn alot about humility being around her.

Im so grateful for my ward.

I really feel I live in the best area anywhere, with the best people ever. I think I would get validation on this from anyone in the area. My ward and the people that dont belong to our church in this neighborhood are amazing. They are young and ambitious, and very motivated to raise good families and be good neighbors. I seriously feel I could write about everyone in our ward (I probably couldnt remember every name), and tell things that would inspire and motivate the WORLD to be better. I live in a very happy sheltered area, where I feel loved and excited to do and be better because of the people I come in contact with daily. I can only pray that my children will live some where like this (maybe right next door???)

With all that is happening around the world, in our country, state and cities its reassuring that we have someone that I can rely on to hear the things that will help me have courage. I have 4 amazing sisters. Kristal, who I appreciate for her creativity, ambition and adding a little youth to the group. Tamee, for all she has ever done to help me raise my girls for about 10 years, she is also my twin in alot of ways. Randa amazes me with her busy schedule and always being able to serve friends and in the church 100 percent. Paula, for her sense of humor through all the trials she has had to go through - she's the perfect oldest sibling - smart, responsible and caring. My sisters have so many more qualities that I hope to highlight on their birthdays next year. I am grateful for all they have added to my life. They are one of my biggest blessings and Im grateful for them daily.

I grateful for Sundays and all it brings.

Laying in bed until "I" want to get up. The sound of my girls behind close doors, not remembering their age and playing with each other like they were still all 4 years old. For snuggling with everyone on my bed and watching a good video. Casual lunch eating, where no meal is prepared, just whatever is left over, because the big meal is after church. Listening to one or all of my girls preparing or just singing a song for church or a program. Warm chocolate chip cookies. Not really "cleaning" the house - just trying to get by with whatever it looks like. Late church. Great teacher that help build my family's testimonies. Seeing ward members that make me feel like family. Hearing truth. Finding out what the kids have learned or taught at church. Having Bill home for dinner and watching him sit afterward to rest, fall asleep and eventually I get him to bed.

You'll never guess who I voted for........

Yep, these are mine and I want to keep these as a record, that I did try to vote for good, righteous people that want to uphold the constitution and preserve liberty. I know there are so many of us that realize the cost of getting leaders in that dont have our best interests at heart, how this will effect our future. Im not talking about our economy or even our security, but our freedoms that we hold so dear. Our family and our religion and the moral ethics this Country used to have. I am proud to be a citizen of the United States of America and believe that our Constitution should not be amended, changed or tampered with in any way, that it was put in place by righteous leaders being guided by who they put their trust - God.

I voted early, but havent turned it in. Still deciding where the right place to drop off these 3 ballots, to make sure my vote counts.

Breea and Mikie have been great friends for about 3 or 4 years and Im grateful for the good friends in her life. She's had a struggle with girls that havent proven to be loyal friends and learned great lessons, but her and Mikie have never even had a disagreement - Happy 16th Mikie!

Monday night Bill took Paula, Tracey and I to a Suns game that he told me we had "court side" seats. I got there and we were on row 21! Is that court side? Now, I love the Suns, Love Paula and Tracey and adore Bill Guttery, but court side? Really? The (pregame) was fun with its double overtimes and head bobbing cheerleaders. Example below:

Tuesday was a great morning of canning with the "Klutzy Canners" (Brenda gave us this perfect name). Becky always opens her home and we get together once or twice a month to can a few new things. This day we canned butter, salsa and taco soup. I count this day as one of my favorite days of the month. I get to learn a new skill, get prepared, visit with some of my favorite people and have a fun lunch (sorry about the yucky Chinese food) Thanks Brenda - for all, teaching and frightening me, making me laugh, inspiring me, living your political conviction, sharing your homemaking knowledge and SAVING THE WORLD. I hope everyone has someone like Brenda in their lives.

We had free tickets, so we decided to venture back to another year at Schnepf Farms. It was a blast and we closed the place down. We eat their bbq (not the best, little expensive), saw a cool dog show, got our faces painted...........................

CAR WASH
The Conway brothers and sisters are holding a donation car wash in behalf of Shelley. The proceeds of the car wash will help with medical costs in fighting this terrible cancer. We also felt this would be a great way for everyone to get involved in showing love and support for Shelley and her awesome family. I just found out today that WFG Foundation has offered to match all donations dollar for dollar. This is VERY generous of WFG. THANK YOU!!! This is my friend ShelleyMarieShelly or as most of you know her, Shelley Conway, wife of Mike and mother of 8 amazing beautiful kids. She is battling an array of problems including cancer through out different areas of her body. Shelley to me, is someone who is always thinking of others. A very Christ-like person. I remember seeing her at Target one time when I was just pulling out of Post Pardum Depression. She probably spent an hour talking to me, trying to help and sharing all she knew to help me get through one of my hardest times. I only wish there was something I could do to help her the same way. Twilight the Movie - Join Us!!!

Calling all Twilighters, Twihards, Twilight Fanatics, Twilight Obsessed and your husbands too! My cousin Sarah Plewe and I are planning to rent out an entire theater for the opening day of TWILIGHT the Movie on November 21st. We need at least 100 people to join us to make it worth the money so tell all the other obsessed fans of Stephenie Meyer to join us.
We are collecting $10 per person for tickets. You can drop your payment at my house. Payment by check (made out to me) is preferrable. Kayla got called to be the Relief Society President for the Valencia Singles Ward. She is 18 and has been to R.S. about 10 times and has about 165 girls in R.S. If anyone can do it, it would be Kayla. Kayla is a born leader that is full of compassion and excitement. Ive never been R.S. President, so I plan on watching and learning, like I do with so many other things Kayla does. Im blessed to have her in my home and in my life.

We surprised the kids and ended up at the Circus. It was actually pretty fun and the kids loved all the different trapeze, acrobatic and motorcycle acts and the crazy "circus people"

This is the only Halloween decor that is up, only because I won it at Bunco and never took the time to take it downstairs to storage. The helmet was a contribution from Jason, a friend who was dating Kayla.

Over Conference weekend we headed up to our parents homes. It is always so great getting to spend time with them and they treat us like royalty. Grandma Guttery cooks up a storm, with the non-fail favorite of green chili enchiladas, homemade chicken noodle soup, banana bread, hot chicken casserole and homemade bread. The kids got to go with them to the Petrified Forest, while I opted to play V-ball with Kristall and her Joseph City following.

One day we headed up to Snowflake and checked out the Temple and visited with George/Merlin Hancock, who thank goodness got called to the temple presidency. He pretty much lived there anyways. President Tenney from Heber, is the new Temple President and a great guy also.

After the temple it was off to fishing and Tessa letting Uncle Jason know exactly how to bate a line.

We caught nothing.

But really enjoyed fishing with the Mulder family.

Went by my mom and dads house they are building in Taylor. We had a great time playing cards, V-ball and just laying around doing nothing (which is my favorite) Thanks for putting up with your lazy daughter, mom and dad.

And then headed to the Snowflake pumpkin patch.

New/old purchase:

I bought this off craigslist. We've been needing something more comfy for our family room, but I didnt want a total commitment, so my plan is to see if I love sectionals. If not, this is a basement beauty and I save for the family room furniture again. Danica and I had some fun garage sale shopping on Saturday - we went looking for front loading washer/dryer sets for her and I ended up buying them (they didnt work for the space in their home) Anyone wanna buy a gently used washer and dryer from my laundry room? I have also been working. Yep, about 10 days a year I really work, although Im not a good worker - the fruit still comes, and I still have to get it out to a ton of people. My phrase around this time heard over and over "I hate fruit". I really dont, those Utah peaches cant be beat, I just wish I were picking them up from someone instead of everyone picking them up from me:-)

This is one of my monthly joys, just like my cycle. I love these girls. Im not always able to make it, but when I do, I am mad at myself for missing the time before. Lots of originals in this group and some new friends too. We usually combine a shower with every bunco. Why didnt they do that when I was still fertile? Maybe they will do a menopause shower for me. Some things I like about this group are the rivalries of someone (who shall remain nameless, but rhymes with rerica) with a certain someone who continually one-ups her, and the ever "popular" Jana, not to mention the best "onda" around. Donna and I exchange teenage advise and I admire her arms, Stephanie amazes me with her pure sweetness, which I long to be - yet I hear she has a inner freak (is that right Kirsten?) Stacy is so thoughtful and gorgeous and Shannons talk about parts on the body not needed and has a great sarcastic sense of humor. Loved getting to know "Glenda" and her cute sister Melisa last time. Melisa D and I have connected through our love of Jane Austen and canning, and I still owe Jennie a necklace:-) Not pictured is another Shamrock Farmer, Marcee who has felt like a good friend since the day I met her. Rachell is my new very lawyerish-not receptionist girlfriend and Sara always seems to be a good listening to my constant babbling. Then there's Elizabeth and her new challenge - love her outlook and her quest for "no-numbness" and the ever-loved Charlene and all our group has learned from her this year through her journey through breast cancer. Hope I got every one - they are all sweet friends that I feel blessed to visit with them at least once a month. The game of Bunco is so unimportant, but the friends are. I am also part of another group in my new ward that is equally fun. I'll save that post for after our Halloween pictures - nuf said.

Subject: October 5th secret exposed

On or about October 5th, Biden will excuse himself from the ticket, citing health problems, and he will be replaced by Hillary. This is timed to occur after the VP debate on 10/2.

There have been talks all weekend about how to proceed with this info.Generally, the feeling is that we should all go ahead and get it out there to as many blog sites and personal email lists as is possible. I have already seen a few short blurbs about this - the 'health problem' cited in those articles was aneurysm. Probably many of you have heard the same rumblings.

However, at this point, with this inside info from the DNC, it looks like this Obama strategy will be a go. Therefore, it seems that the best strategy is to get out in front of this Obama maneuver, spell it out in detail, and thereby expose it for the grand manipulation that it is.

So, let's start mixing this one up and cut the Obamites off at the pass - send this info out to as many people as you can - post about it on websites and blogs - etc.

With Prop 102 YES for MARRIAGE coming up for election, its been such an exciting time to wittiness the Church asking us to take a stand and fight for these privileges. A couple of Saturdays ago I got to go to a meeting with one of the General Authorities that has been assigned to this great cause and as he spoke to us it felt as if we were an army going to battle. It was so cool and I'm a chicken, so war scares me, but this was more of a humble, excited feeling I got that we get to be a part of this. Ive been working on this a little with United Families since the last election that failed and we have been working on this again with the new Proposition 102, and are so grateful our church and many other religions are joining forces to get this passed!

Jamison is turning 16 this week and his parents threw him a surprise party at our house. Dani and Brennon came and helped get the house and yard in shape.

Jami is such a great guy that really follows the Prophet and is kind, glad he's my nephew.

The food was his favorites: Steak, bake potatoes, salad, chips and dip and for dessert - everything dipped in CHOCOLATE! Jamison is in the white above and below was the unfolding of the surprise.

the morning of the 9/11 attack. The sad, scared and motionless feeling that came over me for days. This picture is one that made me the saddest, to see a big smokey hole that was a active building full of good people. I remember not being able to turn off the TV, but wanting to because of the sick feeling I got. Kayla was in the 6th grade and impacted the most. She is always one to worry about other people and she kept saying "Mom, what can we do to help them?"

Im grateful for the peace and safety our country has had since this time. Im grateful for a President that follows the Savior and stands for what he believes is right, no matter the opposition. Im grateful for those that are serving in the Armed Forces and those who have given their lives to secure those that are living with terrorist and feeling the effects on a daily basis. Im grateful to be an American.

Two of my FAVORITE Bishops. Bill and Kaylas Bishop of the Singles Ward, Bishop Christensen or Bishop "C". He and his wife, Michelle are our examples. Always positive, wanting to help in any way they can and so personable and happy - love them both (and their kids)

This is the current Bishopric. Bill is taller and younger than all of them, just take my word for it:-) (Hepworth,Hancock, Bill and Magleby)

These are some shots of when Kamryn and Boston stayed with us while their parents were at Jamaica. I took such great care of them, let them, making sure they all cleaned up, got on their pjs, had nice comfy beds and went to bed on time.

After the morning rain they were a little too wet to go in the house to get on swim suits so they went in the buff.

Labor Day Breea had a few friends over for a nutritious snack and some game and music playing.

Danica and Brennon brought some of the their best friends Rachel and Nathanial over for swimming, card and lunch.

Charlene Holbrook Benefit Auction and BBQ!

Last Saturday was the Benefit for Charlene Holbrook. It was a perfect day and one that will be unforgettable for many people.

This is Curt and Charlene. Charlene was diagnosed with breast cancer about a year ago and has gone through so much since. Ive known Charlene for about 4 years. I was her VT companion for a couple of years and she is a sweet friend to me. Her neighbor and good friend Monda decided to organize and put on a function to help raise money to offset the cost of the Holbrooks medical Bills. So glad she was inspired to do this. She took it first, to Bishop Clare who thrives on serving and has experience doing fundraisers. He and his wife are the kind that make things happen and serve quietly, thats why this is the only picture I have of Bishop and his son Jacob.

This is what dinner looked like and it taste even better than it looked.

Bill also enjoys putting on event like this and he hand his hand in everything. He helped with the pink balloons and all the signs (thanks to his sign guy!) He did get a little balloon happy, but it really made it look like a party! With him is Mike and he was the perfect person to do ALL the signs and bid sheets for the table. He was a quiet worker who happily got everything done super quick.

Cant forget all the McDowells who spent their Saturday morning blowing up balloons and taking them all over town putting them on signs to get the word out.

This is Super Shari. She organized everything donated - which towards the end became a little overwhelming, thanks to ALL the donations. She organized the live auction which ran without a hitch. She also did a great job of email advertising, on top of being Charlenes RS President.

This is Charlenes bishop. Bishop Hales and his wife were team member that did so much from helping with the food to making over 30 homemade aprons and prom dresses. I dont even want to count the hours there. Not to mention Shirleys amazing attitude and smile that keeps everyone feeling calm. Now she's what a bishops wife should be:-)

Bro. Poulsen Sr. is above starting the auction. It was so professional and very exciting to have a real auctioneer and then half way through he introduced his son Mark. Mark is our neighbor and I cant say enough about him and his family. They are definitely quite servers and great friends to our family. Not to mention - he is an awesome auctioneer! Did know he could do that, and his wife and girls where the ones who kept that auction moving perfectly!

Bill and Kelly were the MC's. They helped the auctioneer and announced winners of the silent auction. It was alot of fun - there were so many people you couldnt hear them well, but they gave the auctioneer time to get ready for the next item.

Above was one of the prints Mark Mabry donated. They were all a big hit and he was so generous to donate so many. It was a sweet story of how he learned about Charlene and willingly donated to her cause. Below are some of the dresses Shirley made - Kayla and Breea were a couple of the models.

Above and below are some of the team member that put the silent auctions on. Monda and Erica were our fearless leaders and they were a blast to work with - Monda was organized and you would have thought she had done this a dozen times. Erica was right there with her making sure every table had the right amount of items and would close smoothly, not to mention she made us look so Fancy with our shirts and beads. Monda and I are thinking of changing our names to Merica and Vonica - so we can be as classy as Erica. What do you say Yolanda? (thanks for the pictures too)

We felt so blessed to have such an amazing turn out and everyone was so generous with their bidding.

Once again, I left another Benefit being renewed in the feeling of generosity and kindness. There was a huge turn out from our ward that doesnt even know her - heartwarming. And my old ward that I LOVE was right there in full force to show their love for the Holbrooks. I feel gratitude to know most of these people and call them my close friends. I am blessed. Thanks again to the Holbrooks for allowing us to do this for and with them. They were the inspiration and the reason for all this outpouring.

Me: Hey, what do you guys think about adopting a 10 year old boy?

McKenna: Lets do it, where would he sleep?

Rehgan: Bill needs a boy.

Me: He's the one that doesnt want to

Bailee: I'll go home and make some cookies and bring them to Bishop and tell him he needs to have a boy.

Rehgan: Tell him McKenna will shave her head unless he does

McKenna: I didnt sign up for that!

Rehgan: OK tell him McKenna will die her hair

McKenna: I'll die it pink

Shayna: How much will it cost?

Me: I dont know, how much should we pay?

Shayna: Five................bucks

McKenna: Can we make ten dollar payments every month, like they talk about on TV? "You can save a child for only 10 dollars a month"

When I got home

Kayla: Lets get him. He could take out the trash.

I can hear my call to the adoption agency now: Yes, can I adopt that little boy that looks like my husband, and by the way, my husband doesnt think he wants the boy. Does he take out trash and can I also put him on the payment plan of $10.00 a month?

Getting Shaynas baptism announcements out. Kristal and Breea took the pictures and then Shayna and I went online and looked at sample announcements and Kristal made it identical to the one we sent her - thanks again, Kristal.

For Shaynas b-day we took her to Brios. It was warm and windy but fun to have that time with Shayna.

Randomly, people drop stuff off for Bishop Bill. There is sometimes food, and we do try to save him a couple of bites. I loved this sweet letter.

I like this letter too. Kayla is definitely a "missionary writer" but she does struggle with purchasing her own stamps and here she wrote addresses in the wrong spot. It stinks to get the letter you wrote back.

One of the kids favorite things to do is raid the costumes boxes. We have about 4 of them from all the years of girls and Halloween.

Dason has been our proxy son for years and he married Sara. It was a sweet sealing and these were from the wedding dinner.

He had a band in H.S. that we let play at many parties growing up. They showed up and sang for him. "Golden Brown Couches" was their band name of GBC. Those boys were so fun.

The activity girls dropped this off for Bishop.

We have been taking Brody to dog training every week. Doesnt he look obedient?

One of my favorite friends, Karen, went on a vacation to Idaho, found a great town, bought a house, bought a business, sold her house to her sister all within a week! This was us cleaning and painting her house so she could get out of town. It was about a 3 week turn around. I think she did it like that so she wouldnt hear me whine and cry so much.

This is Karen and next to her is her sister she sold the house to, Christy. Love both of these girls - I'll be spending some time in Idaho now:-)

First day of School at Miss Nicoles. Tessa talks about every detail of class and her friends, Dean and Carson and Lauren. We are hoping for a much calmer, gentler year.

We are missing Tamee, Taryn and Kendall. It was so great to have them hang out with us for a week. Tamee is a great mom to her little troupe. Kendall is a performer and Taryn is a hugger.

Shayna's Baptism

Saturday at 9:00 Shayna was baptised. Her sisters sang with her "A song of Testimony" And Grandma Hatch gave the opening prayer and Grandpa Hatch gave a great talk on the Holy Ghost. He likened it to the GPS system, how if we get off track it says "make a safe u-turn as soon as possible" and how we can always turn off or ignore the GPS. But if we listen and follow the voice, we are guided back and her the GPS say "You have arrived". Isnt that the goal? Great talk Grandpa.

We were able to share the baptismal program with great friends, the Messerlys. We love this family. They are as close as family and it was great to get to hear from their Grandparents too.

Since Grandpa just went through Bi-Pass surgery this week, we excused them, but Shayna wanted her picture with them before Grandpa went in the hospital. He is doing great! (I'll post on him soon)

Afterwards we had some family and friends over for a brunch and swimming. Thanks Grandpa and Grandma Hatch for all your help. And anyone who helped with food. It was alot of fun and the casseroles and cinnabons were a hit!

Book of Mormon Camp Out!

This year Bishop Bill challenged our ward to read the Book of Mormon before August 1st and then the youth headed up to the mountains for an overnighter - BofM Culminating weekend. Breea had a great experience that started with the Mia Maids fun trip there.

We really are blessed to have such an amazing group of YM and YW that are all great friends.

There were some great experiences had by all who went and Breea will be writing more about her's on her own blog. Below is the trip home. Bill was the driving and had a great weekend hanging with his favorite teenagers in the world.
